Senior Product Engineer, Machine Learning Accelerators

Google Google · Big Tech · Sunnyvale, CA +1

This role focuses on the engineering and manufacturing of hardware accelerators for machine learning, specifically within Google's supply chain and operations. The individual will lead technology assessment, collaborate on quality and reliability, and support pre-production builds to ensure the successful deployment of next-generation ML systems. While the role is within an AI-focused organization and deals with ML accelerators, the core responsibilities are in hardware engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain management, rather than direct AI/ML model development or research.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the technology assessment for new products.
  2. Collaborate with Quality and Reliability Engineers to establish New Product Introduction (NPI) and production goals for yield and long-term reliability.
  3. Validate product qualification plans, support reliability testing and review results to ensure product performance meets requirements.
  4. Lead cross-functional teams towards resolution of components and build quality excursions during New Product Introduction build phases.
  5. Provide on-site and remote support for pre-production builds. Ensure factory readiness, support manufacturing line bring-up, provide product debug training and gather feedback on build issues. Manage the bonepile and drive yield bridge analysis to improve product quality.
