Senior Product Manager

Microsoft Microsoft · Big Tech · Redmond, WA +2 · Product Management

Senior Product Manager for Core Trust team building and operating foundational secrets and certificate infrastructure (Azure Key Vault, Microsoft PKI, Managed Identity) that protects millions of keys, secrets, and certificates across Azure, enabling customers and internal teams to build zero-trust architectures. The role focuses on security, identity, and platform, touching security compliance mandates, credential theft mitigation, and cryptographic underpinnings for regulated workloads.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own portions of the product roadmap for Azure Key Vault and/or PKI services, defining priorities based on customer needs, competitive landscape, compliance requirements (SFI, EU CRA, FedRAMP), and engineering feasibility — and driving those priorities through design, build, and launch.
  2. Partner deeply with engineering teams to translate complex cryptographic and certificate lifecycle requirements into clear specifications, make scope tradeoffs, and ship high-quality capabilities on predictable schedules.
  3. Engage directly with enterprise customers and internal service teams to understand how they manage secrets, keys, and certificates at scale — turning those insights into product improvements and migration strategies that reduce credential risk.
  4. Drive cross-team initiatives across Identity, Security, Azure platform, and Windows teams where Key Vault and PKI intersect with broader platform capabilities like Managed Identity, Conditional Access, and workload identity federation.
  5. Communicate product strategy, risk, and progress to senior leadership, including executive-level status updates, escalation framing for migration programs, and strategic narratives connecting your product area to Microsoft's broader security posture.
  6. Monitor and act on product health signals — telemetry, support trends, service reliability, and customer feedback — to continuously improve the product experience and operational excellence of your services.

  • Experience managing products that serve both external customers and large-scale internal enterprise consumers simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive complex migration programs involving legacy infrastructure, multiple stakeholders, and escalation-heavy timelines.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to cloud security (FedRAMP, SOC 2, Common Criteria, EU CRA) and how they shape product requirements.
