Senior Product Manager

Sumo Logic Sumo Logic · Enterprise · India · Software Engineering

This role focuses on optimizing the cost and performance of a large-scale SaaS analytics platform. The Senior Product Manager will own the strategy and roadmap for reducing infrastructure costs (data ingestion, storage, networking, compute) while improving platform performance and reliability. This involves collaborating with engineering, FinOps, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-to-serve alignment and gross margin health. While the company uses AI, this role is primarily focused on platform efficiency and cost optimization rather than direct AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the end-to-end roadmap for platform efficiency.
  2. Collaborate with Core Platform and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to optimize resource allocation across Kubernetes, Kafka, and AWS services (S3, DynamoDB, EC2).
  3. Partner with FinOps to ensure internal "Cost Observability" dashboards inform continual efficiency improvements.
  4. Translate complex technical bottlenecks into actionable PRDs.
  5. Coordinate across Finance, UX, and Engineering stakeholders to deliver cost optimized solutions that meet the needs of customers as well as the financial goals of the business.
