Senior Product Manager, AI Platform Management

GitLab GitLab · Enterprise · Ireland +2 · Remote · Security & Compliance

Senior Product Manager to define and evolve GitLab's AI Platform Management capabilities, focusing on the AI Control Plane that governs agents, Model Context Protocol servers, tools, and skills, including approval workflows and auditability. The role requires experience building product for AI platforms, managing ambiguity, and collaborating cross-functionally.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead product discovery and delivery for AI Control Plane capabilities that help administrators manage AI usage within GitLab.
  2. Define product direction for configuration and governance experiences related to agents, Model Context Protocol servers, tools, skills, and approval flows.
  3. Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and partner teams across AI Governance and related product groups to turn ambiguous problems into clear plans.
  4. Drive alignment across stakeholders by presenting trade-offs, alternatives, and product recommendations grounded in customer and business impact.
  5. Own prioritization decisions for a platform area that supports multiple teams and products, including emerging work connected to autonomous AI experiences.

Skills

Required

  • Experience building product for AI platforms, AI configuration, governance, or other platform capabilities rather than only consuming third-party AI tools.
  • Ability to work through ambiguous, evolving technical spaces and translate them into clear product direction and execution plans.
  • Skill in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, and partner teams, including handling disagreement and driving decisions through influence.
  • Judgment to bring structured alternatives, trade-offs, and recommendations to leaders instead of escalating problems without context.
  • Ownership mindset with a strong sense of accountability, urgency, and follow-through in a role that requires persistence.
  • Comfort operating in a large, matrixed organization where progress depends on coordination across multiple stakeholders and teams.
  • Communication skills that support clear written and verbal collaboration in a distributed, asynchronous environment.
  • Openness to candidates with transferable product experience from adjacent platform or infrastructure domains, especially where AI, governance, or administrative control are central to the work.
