This role is for a Senior Production Planner at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules for Acuvue® Brand Contact Lenses. The planner will align production with customer demand, capacity, and inventory objectives, collaborating with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to manage execution risks and resolve constraints. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years of supply chain experience, ERP system knowledge (SAP preferred), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop, maintain, and optimize a constrained weekly Master Production Schedule (MPS) aligned to customer demand, available capacity, and material readiness.
  2. Plan and manage production activities within defined freeze periods, including rescheduling, rework, and outsourced work as required.
  3. Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure timely release of product for production and downstream replenishment.
  4. Monitor and analyze daily supply and demand alerts; proactively address or escalate execution risks and short‑term constraints.
  5. Optimize customer service performance by preventing stockouts and backorders, while balancing near‑term execution needs with inventory targets.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Operations
  • Experience using ERP systems
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to proactively identify issues and drive resolution through collaboration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong capability to partner cross-functionally
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Nice to have

  • Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • SAP or similar systems (preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills
