Senior Program Manager, Alexa Sensitive Content Intelligence (asci)

Amazon Amazon · Big Tech · IN, KA, Bengaluru · Project/Program/Product Management--Non-Tech

Senior Program Manager for Alexa's Trust Sensitive Content team, focusing on using generative AI and responsible AI guardrails to protect customers from harmful content. The role involves strategic leadership, cross-functional program delivery, defining roadmaps for responsible AI, and ensuring data quality and LLM behavior align with customer outcomes and safety requirements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and execute strategic roadmaps for responsible AI programs — working backwards from customer problems, safety requirements, and regulatory needs
  2. Own end-to-end delivery of multiple cross-functional programs simultaneously — build release schedules, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks proactively
  3. Partner with engineering, data science, and policy teams to align roadmaps and resolve trade-offs (speed vs. accuracy, scalability vs. compliance, data richness vs. latency)
  4. Write clear, data-driven documents (6-pagers, program narratives, WBR decks) that align teams and secure buy-in from senior leaders
  5. Develop and iterate on scalable solutions for emerging content safety challenges — from defining evaluation frameworks for new LLM capabilities to designing guardrail mechanisms that reduce manual intervention

Skills

Required

  • Demonstrated Program Management experience leading large, complex, cross-functional programs end-to-end
  • Ability to invent and simplify, reducing complexity and building scalable solutions
  • Experience building repeatable, self-sustaining operating systems
  • Data and LLM fluency, understanding how large language models work, their failure modes, and the impact of data quality on model behavior and customer outcomes
  • Experience defining and executing strategic roadmaps for AI programs
  • Ability to translate ambiguous programs into actionable plans with clear success metrics
  • Experience negotiating priorities, securing resources, and influencing stakeholders across engineering, legal, science, and policy
  • Experience owning end-to-end delivery of multiple cross-functional programs
  • Ability to define and monitor success metrics and report progress to executive stakeholders
  • Experience building mechanisms such as SLAs, audit frameworks, and operating workflows
  • Ability to use metrics to challenge assumptions and drive course corrections
  • Experience governing program health through risk assessments and blocker tracking
  • Ability to partner with engineering, data science, and policy teams to align roadmaps and resolve trade-offs
  • Experience championing program outcomes in strategic forums
  • Ability to write clear, data-driven documents (e.g., 6-pagers, program narratives)
  • Ability to resolve contentious issues by harmonizing diverse viewpoints
  • Experience developing and iterating on scalable solutions for content safety challenges
  • Experience leading program reviews with engineering and science leads
  • Ability to partner with Applied Science to translate model behavior insights into actionable program requirements
  • Experience triaging and resolving cross-team blockers
  • Ability to review program metrics dashboards and drive course corrections
