This role is for a Senior Program Manager, Product Development at Tempus AI, a company focused on precision medicine and advancing healthcare through AI. What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the entire lifecycle (Concept to Commercialization) of complex, high-impact clinical assay development projects.
  2. Ensure projects align with strategic objectives, adhere to budgetary constraints, and meet all deadlines.
  3. Guide and motivate cross-functional teams throughout the product development process.
  4. Define comprehensive project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements.
  5. Develop detailed project plans, consistent with the Tempus Product Development Process, utilizing approved project management software and tools.

Skills

Required

  • 5–10+ years of experience in project management, focusing on large-scale, complex initiatives.
  • Extensive knowledge of formal project management methodologies and proven experience applying them within the Biotechnology, Clinical Laboratory, or Medical Device industries.
  • Understanding of CLIA, CAP, GMP, NYSDOH, and FDA regulations and requirements.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, Asana) and budget management tools.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in navigating complex organizational structures and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring projects are completed on time with a high degree of accuracy and quality.
  • Proven experience leading complex projects and implementing process improvements in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective, trust-based relationships within a diverse, highly results-driven organization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment, and act as an exceptional leader and mentor to foster team success.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree (4 years) in a scientific, clinical, technical, or business field is preferred
