NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Quantum Algorithm Researcher to drive innovation at the intersection of quantum computing applications and AI. The role involves leading technical collaborations, spearheading research in AI for quantum algorithms, and contributing to NVIDIA's quantum product by developing innovative solutions and publishing impactful research. Requires a Ph.D. in a related field with 5+ years of experience in Quantum Algorithms and Applications, strong connections in the Japanese quantum ecosystem, and excellent programming skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Establish and lead technical collaborations with supercomputing centers (SCCs) on hybrid quantum-classical application development across multiple industry verticals.
  2. Spearhead research pathfinding in AI for quantum algorithms.
  3. Guide all aspects of and drive the execution of technical results for projects in collaboration with our strategic partnerships, including SCCs, leading QPU builders, and needle-moving researchers, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and customer success.
  4. Contribute to NVIDIA’s revenue stream through strategic technical engagement and the development of innovative solutions that support customer adoption and long-term partnerships.
  5. Publish impactful research works and represent NVIDIA at relevant scientific, technical, and industry conferences.

Skills

Required

  • Ph.D. in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience working on Quantum Algorithms and Applications
  • Deep insider knowledge of, and strong connections within, the Japanese quantum ecosystem
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical collaborations with industry partners
  • Excellent programming skills in Python, C++
  • parallel programming model (e.g., CUDA)
  • World-class communication and interpersonal skills
  • proven ability to articulate a value proposition to technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to have

  • Experience with the NVIDIA Quantum platform (cuQuantum and CUDA-Q)
