Seeking a Senior Quantum Algorithms Architect to develop applications for fault-tolerant quantum computers, design algorithms, and apply advanced toolsets for modeling quantum algorithms. This role involves working with world-class scientists and engineers on hybrid quantum-classical workflows.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work at the cutting-edge of quantum computing, designing algorithms and applications for fault-tolerant quantum computers.
  2. Develop and apply advanced toolsets for modeling quantum algorithms and applications on a variety of hardware architectures, determining the quantum resources needed to execute them.
  3. Develop and apply new techniques for application- and architecture-aware quantum circuit compilation and optimization.
  4. Team with world-class engineers, researchers, architects, and leaders, contributing to your career growth.
  5. Drive cross-group collaboration within Microsoft Quantum’s qubit modeling, quantum error correction, and quantum applications teams.

Skills

Required

  • Doctorate in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Sciences, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 1+ years experience in development of commercial software, compilers, scientific computing applications, or multi-component systems
  • 4+ years experience in high-performance computing, quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, or quantum simulation
  • 4+ years experience in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification
  • Ability to leverage AI tools to drive innovation and efficiency
  • Evaluate agentic solutions with measurable metrics and human-in-the-loop safeguards following Microsoft Responsible AI requirements for generative AI
