This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing R&D robotic and electromechanical systems, performing hands-on testing and validation, executing software testing and system updates, and supporting hardware upgrades and prototype builds. What you'd actually do

  1. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues across a diverse fleet of R&D robotic and electromechanical systems to support ongoing development activities.
  2. Perform hands-on testing and validation of complex electro-mechanical systems, ensuring reliability, functionality, and performance.
  3. Execute software testing, system updates, and firmware installations within Ubuntu/Linux environments.
  4. Partner closely with R&D engineers to support hardware upgrades, prototype builds, and development system enhancements.
  5. Build strong working relationships across engineering and technician teams through clear communication, collaboration, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Skills

Required

  • Hands-on experience solving complex challenges in robotic or advanced electromechanical systems
  • 5+ years of experience supporting, testing, or developing complex electromechanical systems in production, manufacturing, R&D, or laboratory environments
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive tasks to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven success contributing to innovative R&D programs and cross-functional product development teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative team player

Nice to have

  • Previous experience working in industrial robotics, automotive, aerospace, or other highly regulated electromechanical industries
  • Surgical robotics experience
