Senior Radar Systems Engineer (senior, Lead, Principal)

Boeing Boeing · Aerospace · Huntsville, AL

Senior Radar Systems Engineer role at Boeing, focusing on the PAC-3 RF seeker. Responsibilities include leading technical development, creating algorithms for radar signal processing (Kalman filtering, probabilistic modeling), designing target discrimination and tracking algorithms, defining system performance requirements, and optimizing system-of-systems performance. The role also involves analyzing simulation data, reviewing signal processing techniques, and mentoring junior engineers. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, significant related experience (9+ years for Senior, 14+ for Lead, 20+ for Principal), and an active U.S. Security Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead critical technical development efforts as a senior subject matter expert on RF theory, digital signal processing, and radar concepts.
  2. Develop algorithms for radar signal processing techniques such as Kalman filtering, probabilistic and statistical modeling, and measurement processing from pulsed-Doppler waveforms.
  3. Design algorithms that process signal returns into discriminated targets and track targets through mission timeline.
  4. Define system performance requirements and ensure interface definition supports various functional components of the seeker’s and missile’s architecture.
  5. Conduct analysis to optimize total system-of-systems performance or system architecture as applied to algorithmic functionality pertaining to the acquisition and tracking of targets.
