Senior Reliability Engineer

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA · Hardware Engineering : Product Development : Reliability Engineering

This role is for a Senior Reliability Engineer at Anduril Industries, a defense technology company. The engineer will focus on ensuring the reliability of autonomous systems, particularly for Space programs. Responsibilities include supporting system design reviews, leading FMEA efforts, performing predictive reliability analysis, developing qualification test plans, and using data analysis for root cause analysis. The role requires extensive experience in hardware reliability, failure analysis, and working with safety-critical systems in the defense or aerospace industry, with a strong emphasis on military standards and reliability frameworks.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support and review system block diagrams, interface control documents, and schematics for compliance against reliability requirements and concept of operations.
  2. Lead Failure Modes & Effects Analysis efforts and collaborate with cross-functional Engineering teams to implement product improvements for Reliability.
  3. Perform predictive reliability analysis to calculate probability of loss of control, loss of asset, and MTTF/MTBF utilizing Anduril requirements, specifications, and relevant industry standards (i.e. MIL-HDBK-217Plus).
  4. Develop Qualification Test plans to ensure appropriate requirements coverage, and work with Test Engineering to fixture, instrument, and execute test campaigns.
  5. Perform Weibull analysis utilizing data from Qualification campaigns and from fielded assets.
