Senior Reliability Engineer, Connected Warfare

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer for its Connected Warfare programs. This role focuses on ensuring products meet mission performance requirements and withstand challenging conditions by applying advanced reliability tools and methodologies. Responsibilities include supporting design and development teams, performing predictive reliability analysis, creating qualification test plans, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing continuous improvement processes for reliability. The role requires experience with safety-critical systems in defense/aerospace, familiarity with military standards, and expertise in reliability analysis techniques.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support and review system block diagrams, interface control documents, and schematics for compliance, redundancy, and accuracy against requirements and concept of operations.
  2. Partner with Design & Development Engineers to document requirements and proactively identify risk through tools such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Physics of Failure Methodologies, and Analysis + Test Data Reviews.
  3. Perform predictive reliability analysis to calculate probability of loss of control, loss of asset, MTTF, and MTBF utilizing Anduril requirements, specifications, and COTS specifications as well as leveraging MIL-HDBK-217 Plus.
  4. Create and tailor R&D Test and Qualification Test requirements & plans, and manage the Qualification & Traceability matrix alongside FMEA documentation to ensure appropriate requirements coverage.
  5. Work with Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure all inspection and acceptance test gates are in place and documented into a clear process against requirements.

What the JD emphasized

  • minimum of 5 years experience
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
  • Experience with safety-critical hardware & software systems in the defense or aerospace industry
  • Experience or familiarity with MIL-STD-810, MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-516C, and MIL-STD-1629
  • Experience setting up a Reliability Engineering framework for a product or program, including support of field tests, data acquisition, and data analysis
  • Expertise in reliability analysis techniques, including FMEA/FMECA, predictive modeling, Weibull analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis
  • Experience with generating qualification testing requirements and executing tests to proactively characterize product behavior and performance
  • Failure investigation/analysis experience with proven track record of solving problems and preventing reoccurrence
  • Design Review Experience (PDR, CDR, MRR) and confident in presentation skills across all l
