What you'd actually do

  1. Own project full life-cycle from innovation to integration.
  2. Design, simulate, layout, and test superconducting 3- and 4-wave mixing devices.
  3. Experiment design and measurement in the context of qubit readout and control.
  4. Collaborate with processor design, device modeling, theory, fabrication, and metrology teams.

Skills

Required

  • PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or related fields or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in operating, calibrating, or benchmarking quantum systems, superconducting detectors, or related technologies.
  • 2 years of experience in working on an academic, government, or industry lab environment.
  • Experience with a programming language (Python, C, MATLAB, or similar) and data analysis.
  • Experience with microwave engineering, circuit design, electromagnetic (EM) simulation, and test-and-measurement equipment and practices.

Nice to have

  • Experience with superconducting devices such as JRM, SNAIL, LINC, ATS, nTrons, etc.
  • Experience working in a lab setting.
  • Experience leading research projects as an individual contributor.
  • Experience with microwave passives such as filters, multiplexers, impedance matching and coupling structures, including circuit and EM simulation with an ability to innovate in this area.
  • Ability to debug hardware and software issues, in the context of microwave control and measurement of superconductor or semiconductor quantum systems.
