This role focuses on reward programs and talent strategy within Google DeepMind, a pioneering AI lab. The Senior Reward Lead will act as a thought-leader and advisor to senior leadership, driving holistic reward solutions to attract and retain global AI talent. Responsibilities include leading high-stakes programs, forming strategic alliances, setting reward standards, and solving problems holistically. While the role is not directly building AI models, it is critical for supporting the organization that does, and it involves using AI tools to improve practices.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, proactively identifying complex challenges and providing strategic POVs to shape the long-term reward philosophy.
  2. Lead high-stakes programs, advocating for holistic improvements that go beyond immediate asks.
  3. Form strategic alliances across DeepMind and Google, influencing stakeholders with competing objectives to align on the mission.
  4. Set the standards for Reward as a go-to authority, coaching others to elevate the expertise of the broader People and Culture team.
  5. Solve problems holistically, ensuring solutions integrate with DeepMind’s culture and demonstrating expert judgement. Remain confident working directly with data to support or disprove hypotheses, while role-modeling AI adoption and novel technical solutions to innovate existing practices and solve critical challenges.
