Senior Sales Engineer, Enterprise

Fivetran is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to drive customer expansion in ASEAN. This role focuses on identifying growth opportunities within existing enterprise accounts by leveraging expertise in data replication, ELT/ETL, and cloud data warehousing. The Sales Engineer will partner with account managers, architect data solutions, and evangelize Fivetran's platform to enable customers' digital transformation and AI readiness. Responsibilities include technical discovery, solution design, understanding customer architectures, and producing technical content. The ideal candidate has enterprise experience with Tier-1 databases, a strong understanding of hybrid data environments, and excellent communication skills to bridge technical and business needs.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead technical discovery and solution design for upsell and cross-sell motions across a high-value Commercial/Enterprise account base.
  2. Collaborate with Account Managers (AMs) and Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to interpret usage signals and identify "trigger events" for expansion.
  3. Help customers evolve their legacy architectures to support modern cloud-scale volumes and hybrid-cloud environments.
  4. Position the value of Fivetran’s high-volume agents and enterprise-grade security to technical stakeholders and C-suite executives.
  5. Act as a thought leader in the ASEAN data community. You will produce technical content, lead bespoke training, and mentor partner teams on Fivetran’s competitive edge.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of operational experience with Tier-1 databases (SAP, Oracle, SQL Server) or supporting large-scale database operations as a Systems Integrator.
  • Proven ability to identify growth signals and translate technical needs into a compelling business case for expansion.
  • Knowledge of both on-premise (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and cloud-native deployments.
  • Ability to "code-switch"—influencing data engineers with technical depth and business leaders with ROI-driven narratives.
  • Passion for solving business problems through data and a relentless drive to learn and share new technologies.
