The role is for a Lead Scientist in Rocket Motor Systems at Anduril, focusing on the design, development, and manufacturing of solid rocket motors. The candidate will be an expert in energetic materials and propellant formulation, acting as a principal investigator on R&D efforts and ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations. This is a defense technology role with a focus on materials science and manufacturing, not AI/ML.

What you'd actually do

  1. Execute production rocket motor contracts as the program propellant chemist.
  2. Act as the principal investigator on at least one internal research and development effort.
  3. Provide technical guidance on explosives chemistry and manufacturing.
  4. Maintain databases and analyze technical data to ensure specification and regulatory compliance.
  5. Support implementation of innovative techniques and technologies.
