This role is for a Senior Scientist in Biologics Cell Culture Commercialization at Merck. The primary focus is on cell culture development and commercialization for late-stage biologics pipelines. Responsibilities include technical strategy, process development, characterization, regulatory filing support (IND, MAA, BLA), tech transfer, and mentoring junior scientists. The role requires expertise in mammalian cell culture processing of biologics and understanding of regulatory requirements for commercialization and manufacturing operations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Technical Strategy: Deliver robust DS strategies for successful commercialization.
  2. Technical knowledge: Fundamental knowledge and subject matter expertise with mammalian cell culture processing of biologics (large molecule products), recent advances, and challenges in the field.
  3. Experience in independently conducting and directing the planning, execution, analysis, and documentation of all stages of cell culture process commercialization.
  4. Risk assessment, control strategies, process comparability reports, Process performance qualification, and/or regulatory submissions.
  5. CMC RA: Experience supporting/writing regulatory filings (IND, MAA, BLA) and supporting inspections with multiple agencies (FDA, EMA, JNDA, TGA).
