Johnson & Johnson Johnson & Johnson · Pharma · Beerse, Antwerp, Belgium

This role is for a Senior Scientist in Immunology Discovery at Johnson & Johnson, focusing on identifying and validating novel pathways for therapeutic interventions in inflammatory diseases. Responsibilities include establishing culture systems, designing and performing in vitro experiments, and analyzing multi-omic datasets. The role requires a PhD in Immunology or a related field with post-doctoral experience and a strong publication record, with experience in primary human in vitro cell culture systems being essential.

What you'd actually do

  1. Establish novel culture systems (including complex co-cultures) that replicate cellular phenotypes found in patient tissue (reverse translation)
  2. Design, perform and interpret_ in vitro_ experiments to assess therapeutic opportunities to drive deep tissue healing
  3. Establish key biologic functions and readouts to enable robust screening efforts
  4. Interrogate multi-omic datasets to identify cellular mechanisms regulating cell activity in health and disease
  5. Present research at internal meetings and external scientific forums
