Senior Scientist, In-silico Formulations

This role focuses on applying computational biophysics, protein modeling, and AI/ML to guide the selection and optimization of drug formulations, particularly for antibodies. The Senior Scientist will execute computational experiments, develop new methods, and work within multi-disciplinary teams to advance drug development projects.

What you'd actually do

  1. Execution of sophisticated experiments using advanced computational techniques on local workstations and/or remote servers.
  2. Clearly communicating the results of computational experiments to team members facilitating the formulation selection/optimization of new antibodies.
  3. Developing novel computational methods to address key drug development questions.

Skills

Required

  • Ph.D. in chemical engineering, computational sciences, bioengineering, chemistry, biophysics, or related subject area OR master’s degree with at least 3 years of related experience OR bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to model and simulate diverse modalities (e.g., small molecules, proteins, lipids, DNA/RNA, etc.)
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills

Nice to have

  • Expertise using molecular dynamics packages (e.g., GROMACS, NAMD, Amber, CHARMM), modeling/visualization tools (e.g., MOE, Schrodinger, VMD, PyMOL), and data analysis/automation methods (e.g., shell scripting and Python)
  • Proficient using Linux/Unix shell scripting and Python (or similar languages) to perform complex analyses, build computational workflows, and implement new algorithms/models
  • Demonstrated application of artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) methods to solve real world problems
  • Ability to build clean databases using available formulation data and generate statistical models with predictive ability
  • Knowledge of efficient large-scale data handling (i.e., extraction, manipulation, and merging multiple data sources)
