Senior Silicon Photonics Test Engineer

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Silicon Photonics Test Engineer to develop test solutions for silicon photonics integrated circuit designs for data centers and high-performance computing. The role involves working with design teams, leading hardware engineering for high-speed optical tests, developing test station code, and collaborating with vendors and internal teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with photonic device designers, other test engineering and design validation teams to perform full test and device characterization of silicon photonic devices.
  2. Lead hardware engineering to conduct and develop high speed optical test.
  3. Develop codes for Silicon Photonic test stations and automation.
  4. Partner with module developers and design teams to do electro-optical testing of the modules.
  5. Collaborate with external instrument vendors to ensure seamless software and control integration.

Skills

Required

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a similar discipline with 5+ overall years of working experience in a related field. Or master in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a similar discipline with 8+ overall years of working experience in a related field on optical systems or opto-electronics devices.
  • Extensive experience in microwave and high speed optical system testing.
  • Knowledge of optical systems, modules, components, and photonics devices (lasers, detectors, modulators, transceivers, DWDM system.)
  • Experience in test programing (Python, LabView, .net, etc.) with various instruments for semiconductor device testing, wafer probers and/or optical module testing.
  • 5+ years of experience measuring, analyzing, and debugging complex mixed-signal designs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability & desire to work as a good teammate.
