What you'd actually do

  1. Design, build, and operate large-scale, distributed security detection systems.
  2. Collaborate with applied scientists and security researchers to transform research outcomes—such as anomaly detection methods and large language model (LLM)–based approaches—into scalable, production-ready systems.
  3. Drive the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, planning, design, implementation, testing, documentation, deployment, and operational support.
  4. Conduct design and code reviews, providing feedback on architecture, scalability, performance, and integration.
  5. Operate in a highly available, customer-facing environment with on-call responsibilities (typically one week every two months), and contribute to building resilient systems that minimize operational load.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Nice to have

  • Master's degree or above in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or related Science field, or experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code
  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud technology
  • Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.
  • Experience designing, building, operating, and managing large-scale distributed systems or web services
  • Experience with security and systems that handle sensitive data
