Senior Software Engineer for the Edge Web Platform team, focusing on the Rendering team. The role involves developing and improving web platform features in the Chromium rendering pipeline, collaborating with engineers and program managers, partnering with standards and upstream communities (W3C, Chromium), and delivering web platform innovation. The goal is to shape how modern web content is rendered, animated, and interacted with across platforms, bridging the gap between native applications and the web, and contributing to the Chromium project.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and improve web platform features in Chromium rendering pipeline to bridge the gap between native applications and the web.
  2. Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers and program managers on open-source projects.
  3. Partner with standards and upstream communities (W3C, Chromium) to shape APIs and implementation details.
  4. Deliver web platform innovation in important areas of the browser engine with a focus on the needs of our customers and web developers.
  5. Contribute directly to the Chromium project for aspects that can be shared with other Chromium-based browsers.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • equivalent experience

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
