The AI Platform organization at Microsoft builds the end-to-end Azure AI stack/PaaS and is core to Azure's innovation and differentiation, as well as all of Microsoft's flagship products, from Office to Teams, to Xbox. We are the team building Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, Cognitive Services, and the global Azure AI infrastructure for running the largest AI workloads on the planet.
Within AI Platform, the AI Foundry team enables developers to quickly and easily build, train, deploy, manage, and consume machine learning models. Our Team is the backbone of this mission.
The team designs, builds, and operates the largest scale engineering system in the industry for Large Language Models and GenAI Services. Key areas that we are working on
Building and Scaling our Inferencing Cloud across our flagships AOAI Service and growing the Model as A Service model Families.
Expand the Gen AI Model Offerings to more model providers, and best and latest models and provide a unified experience across AOAI and MAAS/MAAP for Azure AI customers.

Responsibilities
**Responsibilities **
As a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you will drive the design, development, and support of the platform that powers Azure Machine Learning and Azure OpenAI. You'll work across teams to help make the whole organization successful. Your responsibilities will include the following:
Design, implement, and support scalable, reliable, high-performance services.
Write clean and concise code with unit tests.
Design, implement, and support new features as well as extend existing systems.
Investigate live site issues and implement and deploy fixes.
Participate in an on-call rotation.
Drive quality engineering via code reviews and design discussions.
Build and champion AI-powered and agentic automation to eliminate manual toil and improve engineering efficiency.
Qualifications
**Qualifications (Required and Preferred) **
10+ years of experience writing production code in building internet-scale services and distributed systems.
Ability to debug, read code, and work on a large and increasing codebase.
Engineering knowledge of machine learning systems and data pipelines.
Experience mentoring other developers, working with partners, and being a team player.
Excellent communication, ability to collaborate with diverse remote teams and presentation skills.
Experience with large-scale distributed systems design and implementation
Passion for machine learning, artificial intelligence and agentic solution.
Familiarity with Azure is a plus
