Senior Software Engineer, Analytics Platform

Sentry Sentry · Enterprise · San Francisco, CA · Engineering

Sentry is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Event Analytics Platform (EAP) team. This role will focus on the infrastructure powering Sentry's time-series data and searching capabilities, handling billions of events with sub-second latency. The engineer will expand search infrastructure, build new capabilities on their storage layer, and improve performance and integrity of core data services, with a goal of scaling event data to the petabyte range. Experience with distributed data storage systems, Python, and systems like ClickHouse, Kafka, and Redis is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Expand EAP's ability to deliver data at world-class speed and reliability.
  2. Architect and automate services and systems to scale reliably under growing demand.
  3. Make architectural trade-offs that balance product requirements with engineering constraints.
  4. Maintain and grow the team's code quality initiatives by regularly reviewing code and contributing to design decisions.
  5. Lead design and discussions around deliverables the team is working towards.
