Senior Software Engineer, Emerging On-prem AI Infrastructure

This role is for a Senior Software Engineer focused on Emerging On-prem AI Infrastructure at Google. The engineer will contribute to hybrid and on-premise infrastructure goals, collaborate with stakeholders to define architecture and roadmaps, and ensure high-performance operations. The role requires experience in software engineering, building infrastructure tools, and designing/architecting large-scale cloud infrastructure.

What you'd actually do

  1. Contribute to the goal for hybrid and on-premise infrastructure by assisting in the definition and delivery of critical architecture and roadmap initiatives.
  2. Collaborate with executive engineers, internal managers, and external partners to influence product roadmaps and drive alignment on technical priorities.
  3. Partner effectively with internal organizations and external vendors to facilitate seamless integration and maintain strong professional relationships.
  4. Advocate user needs by translating customer feedback into engineering solutions that address infrastructure tests.
  5. Enhance product and engineering standards to ensure high-performance operations, while working with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of new initiatives.

Skills

Required

  • 5 years of experience in software engineering
  • building tools focused on infrastructure operations, reliability, and architectural integrity
  • 2 years of experience in software design and architecture, within a large-scale cloud infrastructure provider
  • testing, maintaining, and launching software products or infrastructure systems
  • debugging, troubleshooting, and diagnosing issues within distributed systems

Nice to have

  • Experience with compute technologies and building/operating foundational infrastructure at scale
  • delivering incremental solutions to ambiguous system-level problems, with excellent investigative skills
  • Knowledge in building and operating compute infrastructure, specifically within large-scale cloud environments or hybrid/on-premises deployments
  • Ability to grow in changing environments, adapting to changing priorities
