As an iOS engineer on the Photos Video Consumption team, you will play a critical role in this transformation by building a wide breadth of features - ranging from delightful, sit-back consumption journeys, through to smart utilities like finding exactly the right moment in the video and helping users to optimize their storage. This role offers a unique chance to shape how millions of users interact with video on Google Photos while deepening your expertise across the entire Photos iOS architecture.Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver high-quality, scalable iOS video features in a timely and efficient manner.
- Work with other engineers to define and continuously improve our software architecture, ensuring it remains reliable and easy to reason about.
- Mentor a small team of iOS engineers, actively creating development opportunities for yourself and others.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and engineering partners from a global team to drive successful outcomes on shared initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with iOS mobile software development.
- 5 years of experience in programming with Swift or Objective-C.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- Experience with iOS user interface, Swift User Interface (UI), and navigation concepts.
