Senior Software Engineer, Manufacturing Test (roadrunner)

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA · Manufacturing : Manufacturing Engineering : Production Test

This role is for a Senior Software Engineer focused on manufacturing test for defense technology products. The engineer will develop test executive software, integrate cloud data, generate automation scripts, and partner with engineers to improve the development cycle and optimize physical testing processes. The role involves significant hardware-software interaction and automation, but the core deliverable is test infrastructure, not AI models or agents.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop applications for Windows and Linux desktop environments that interface with and control physical test equipment, industrial automation, and data acquisition systems.
  2. Integrate cloud data and deployment features while maintaining user authentication and security.
  3. Generate automation scripts (python) for debug and prototype development, especially for interacting with hardware, simulating physical conditions, and capturing sensor data.
  4. Triage issues, root cause failures (including those related to hardware-software integration), and coordinate next-steps.
  5. Partner with end-users and manufacturing engineers to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with physical engineering constraints and test system capabilities.
