Senior Software Engineer - Observe by Snowflake, Monitoring & Alerting

Snowflake Snowflake · Data AI · CA-Menlo Park, United States · Engineering

Senior Software Engineer for the Monitoring & Alerting team at Observe by Snowflake. This role involves driving high-impact features end-to-end, designing and scaling the monitoring and alerting pipeline for high concurrency and throughput SQL workloads, and owning the full product surface of the monitoring system. The role focuses on building AI-native workflows for monitor creation and alert triage, collaborating cross-functionally, and mentoring junior engineers. The platform is an AI-powered observability platform built on the Snowflake AI Data Cloud, engineered for enterprise scale.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive high-impact features end-to-end: from anomaly detection and compound monitor logic to simple alerting workflows, owning scope, architecture, and delivery
  2. Design and scale the monitoring and alerting pipeline to support high concurrency and high-throughput SQL workloads, ensuring reliability for hundreds of terabytes of telemetry processed daily
  3. Own the full product surface of the monitoring system, iterating on backend behavior, AI agent interactions, and pipeline internals based on direct customer feedback
  4. Build AI-native workflows for monitor creation and alert triage, bringing intelligence to every step of the detection-to-resolution lifecycle
