Senior Software Engineer, Postman Insights

This role involves designing, building, and scaling backend infrastructure to process real-time network traffic and developing AI algorithms to analyze this data for API insights. The engineer will own the roadmap, make architectural decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The focus is on building and scaling the infrastructure for an early-stage product that analyzes API traffic.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, build, and scale our backend infrastructure to process time-series network traffic, at large scale, in real-time.
  2. Build and maintain AI algorithms to analyze time-series network data to improve API discovery, metrics, and more.
  3. Take ownership of the engineering roadmap for the backend infrastructure of Postman Insights, setting the technical direction and priorities.
  4. Collaborate with documentation and marketing teams to help explain the capabilities and limitations that the infrastructure unlocks.
  5. Partner with the broader team to make design and architecture decisions for Postman Insights.

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years of experience shipping production-grade software.
  • Experience scaling large-scale software systems.
  • Proven ability to work independently, with at least two significant projects where you were either the primary contributor delivering substantial portions of the work and/or led a team of engineers to successfully execute the project.
  • Strong communication skills, with a track record of aligning cross-functional stakeholders and unblocking challenges to meet business objectives.
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
