Senior Software Engineer, Site Reliability

Ripple Ripple · Fintech · Chicago, IL +1 · Engineering

Senior Site Reliability Engineer focused on platform reliability and engineering excellence, responsible for observability, releasability, and security foundations for Ripple's products. The role involves embedding with teams to drive CI/CD practices, production observability, and DevSecOps integration, coaching teams on instrumentation, pipeline optimization, and security integration, and identifying/removing operational bottlenecks.

What you'd actually do

  1. Embed with stream-aligned teams in time-boxed engagements (6–12 weeks) to build capabilities across observability, CI/CD, and security domains
  2. Coach teams on instrumenting code with logs, metrics, and traces; creating dashboards, alerts, and defining SLOs/SLIs and error budgets to improve production troubleshooting
  3. Guide teams in designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Octopus Deploy, including trunk-based development and progressive delivery strategies
  4. Teach teams to integrate security scanning (SAST, DAST, SCA) into pipelines, perform threat modeling, implement secrets management, and remediate vulnerabilities
  5. Identify and remove operational bottlenecks across deployment, monitoring, and security practices to reduce lead time, MTTR, and vulnerability remediation time
