This role is for a Senior Solutions Architect at AWS, focusing on the Energy & Utilities sector. The primary responsibility is to work with customers to adopt AWS cloud and AI services, providing technical guidance, building solutions, and acting as a trusted advisor. The role involves creating technical content, evangelizing AWS technologies, and contributing to the growth of the Solutions Architecture organization. While AI/ML technologies are mentioned, the core function is customer-facing solution architecture and adoption, not direct AI/ML model development or research.

What you'd actually do

  1. As a Solutions Architect, you will work directly with customers to accelerate their projects and recommend best-practice architectures in line with their long-term business outcomes.
  2. You will own the technical relationship with the customer and operate as their trusted advisor. The best interests of the customer will shape the guidance you provide.
  3. Share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap of new features and services for the AWS platform.
  4. Create and capture best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts).
  5. Evangelise and educate about AWS technology (e.g. workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).

Skills

Required

  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 4+ years of working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning), GenAI (Generative AI), Analytics, Database, and/or Storage experience
  • Experience in customer-facing work, engaging with customer executives, technologists or partners to solve business problems with advanced technologies

Nice to have

  • Experience working with end user or developer communities
  • 6+ years of solving problems with technology in the Energy & Utilities industries experience
