This role focuses on working with early-stage startups to help them leverage AWS technology at scale, acting as a trusted advisor and influencing their technical decisions. It involves designing large-scale architectures, supporting platform evolution, and advocating for customer needs with product teams. The role also includes creating technical content and presenting at events.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own and drive technical strategy for a global technology customer, influencing their long-term business and technology decisions by demonstrating how adopting new technological capabilities can impact their business outcomes.
  2. Design and deliver large-scale architectures and technical solutions that solve significantly complex problems, creating new patterns and methodologies that can be leveraged across the organization.
  3. Serve as a trusted advisor to customer leadership, asking strategic questions they aren't asking themselves and guiding them through technology transformation journeys.
  4. Lead cross-organizational initiatives requiring consensus and collaboration among many teams for successful solution delivery, effectively influencing and force-multiplying.
  5. Mentor other Solutions Architects, sharing expertise and best practices while fostering growth and development within the team

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
  • Experience working with end user or developer communities
  • Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
