Senior Solutions Engineer - German Speaker

This role is a Solutions Engineer at Algolia, a company specializing in AI Search. The primary focus is on the technical pre-sales relationship, helping prospects and customers evaluate and adopt Algolia's platform. Responsibilities include demonstrating the product, addressing technical objections, building prototypes, and acting as a liaison between customers and internal Product/Engineering teams. The role requires strong technical expertise, consultative skills, and the ability to translate complex concepts into business value. While the company is in AI Search, the role itself is customer-facing and pre-sales, not directly building AI models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with Sales Teams and prospects on their evaluation and adoption of Algolia solutions
  2. Understand and qualify customer goals with KPIs and effectively articulate Algolia’s ability to meet them
  3. Assist in the Sales process including discovery, demo, Proofs of Concept (POC), RFP responses & business justification
  4. Develop custom search applications leveraging the tools, frameworks, and partners of the Algolia ecosystem.
  5. Distill and advocate customer interests, needs and product feedback in order to relay to Product and Engineering teams

Skills

Required

  • Fluent German
  • 4+ years experience in a customer-facing technical role (SE, SA, consultant, PM)
  • Previous software development experience in one or more of the following areas: Front End: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Back-End: Java, Ruby, Go, Node, Python, Swift/Objective-C
  • Experience with data formats and data transformation
  • Great oral and written communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills

Nice to have

  • A background in the search industry or e-commerce
  • Specific knowledge in frameworks Magento, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, commercetools and alike
  • Familiarity with emerging concepts in agentic AI systems (e.g., autonomous reasoning, tool use, or multi-agent orchestration).
  • Knowledge in Analytics, SEO
