Okta is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to act as a technical advisor and trusted advisor for customer-facing sales teams. The role involves educating customers on Okta's identity solutions, demonstrating their value, understanding customer needs, and providing tailored product demonstrations. The engineer will also lead technical engagements, including Proofs of Concept (POCs), collaborate with other Okta engineering teams, share customer feedback with product teams, and stay updated on competitive analysis and market differentiation. The role also involves representing Okta at marketing events.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as a technical advisor: Partner with the sales team to educate customers on Okta’s identity solutions and demonstrate their value.
  2. Solve customer challenges: Understand customer needs and provide tailored product demonstrations to show how our solutions can solve their business problems.
  3. Lead technical engagements: Answer product and technical questions, and plan and deliver complex Proofs of Concept (POCs) by collaborating with other Okta engineering teams.
  4. Drive product and knowledge growth: Share customer feedback with our product teams to influence future enhancements and contribute to the team's knowledge by sharing best practices and reusable assets.
  5. Stay ahead of the curve: Keep up with competitive analysis and market differentiation to better position Okta.
