Senior / Staff Embedded Software Engineer

Waabi Waabi · Robotics · Toronto, ON +2 · Embedded Software Engineering

This role focuses on implementing low-level, safety-critical embedded software for autonomous truck control functions, integrating sensors and actuation feedback, and collaborating with hardware, safety, and systems teams. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with embedded C/C++/Rust on ARM microcontrollers, working on safety-critical projects, and mentoring junior developers.

What you'd actually do

  1. Implement low-level, safety critical embedded software for truck control functions such as engine control, steering and braking.
  2. Integrate sensors and vehicle actuation feedback with our localization and control systems in order to implement redundant safety features.
  3. Collaborate with our hardware, safety and systems teams on design, build and validation of highly reliable next generation systems.
  4. Develop software according to industry-best practices for safe, reliable and robust code.
  5. Support the bring up and operation of the autonomous platform, both remotely and on-site.
