Senior Staff Engineer on the Reddit Ads team responsible for developing the technical foundation for mission critical product pillars to grow and diversify the advertiser base. This role involves architecting the 2+ year technical roadmap, building future versions of ads manager, business hub, API, and off-platform experiences, and mentoring other engineers.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead: Work across multiple teams to change the shape of Reddit’s business, and solve problems for many different customers, from SMBs to Agencies to API users
  2. Architect: Help define the 2+ year technical roadmap for the platform, connecting many complex business needs into a clear strategy for the right technical foundation for the org to execute quickly and with rigor.
  3. Build: Create the future version of the ads manager, business hub, API, and off-platform experiences, bringing ambitious projects from conception to launch and beyond.
  4. Amplify: Mentor, coach, and collaborate with other technical contributors, fostering a culture of empathetic technical excellence and proactive problem-solving.
  5. Collaborate: Work together across product surfaces with a variety of cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, Data Science, Product Marketing, and Sales.

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • track record of leading large-scale technical projects that require cross-team and cross-functional collaboration
  • Expertise in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Scala, Java, or C++)
  • ability to grow expertise in Python and Go
