Senior Staff Physical Systems Architecture, Google Cloud

Google Google · Big Tech · Sunnyvale, CA +1

This role focuses on the physical design and architecture of data center systems, from chip to chiller, optimizing for TCO, efficiency, and density. While it supports AI infrastructure, the core craft is in hardware and data center engineering, not AI/ML model development or deployment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Act as a "go-to" technical leader with in-depth design and architectural knowledge of IT equipment and data centers culminating towards highly connected machine learning systems.
  2. Lead projects to resource and enable qualification of products from concept design to final production and deployment, collaborate with cross-functional leaders and external vendors/partners to maintain and improve design, development/qualification processes.
  3. Contribute to overall system architecture from “chip to chiller” to optimize TCO of overall IT infrastructure, develop holistic designs/architectures from package to data center level optimizing for cost and efficiency while innovating for performance, and effective density in deployment.
  4. Develop appropriate specifications and test procedures as necessary to ensure desired reliability and performance of electronic equipment, collaborate, supervise, mentor, and motivate internal and external teams, to design and develop excellent products.
