Senior Staff Software Engineer for Google Cloud's Managed Spark Service (Dataproc). This role focuses on managing and optimizing big data analytics workloads in the cloud, including multi-tenant security, cluster management, capacity planning, and performance optimization. The engineer will also integrate AI-driven management tools to improve team productivity and service delivery, and influence open-source big data initiatives.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define product differentiating features in an ambiguous problem space.
  2. Build high-impact customer-facing features which make Cloud Dataproc the best place to run Hadoop and Spark in the cloud.
  3. Make Cloud Dataproc the best product for data science and engineering workloads.
  4. Influence and oversee across Big-Data open-source initiatives including contributions to Spark, Flink, Presto etc.
