Senior Staff Software Engineer for Google Cloud's Identity and Access Management (IAM) policy, platform, and AI teams. This role will oversee the strategic direction for Organization Policies, Regional Security Isolation, and Policy AI, focusing on improving reliability, velocity, and adaptability. The engineer will resolve complex technical problems with innovative, centralized evaluation solutions and build secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure for Google Cloud, collaborating with IAM leaders to ensure consistent access control enforcement. The role involves advising on the next-generation evolution of IAM capabilities by integrating novel AI approaches into production systems and providing technical oversight and leadership.

What you'd actually do

  1. Architect the long-term engineering direction for Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, resolving platform fragmentation and centralizing the authorization evaluation model for core platforms.
  2. Serve as the deep-domain technical authority on hyper-reliable infrastructure, leading complex, multi-year engineering programs to ensure fast, scalable, and always-correct IAM enforcement.
  3. Advise the next-generation evolution of IAM capabilities by identifying, prototyping, and integrating novel AI approaches into reliable production systems.
  4. Build and influence strategic collaborations with executive Google Cloud Platform (GCP) leadership (Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Technical Program Mangers) to define and drive the overarching technical goal for the IAM space.
  5. Provide technical oversight and thought leadership while proactively fostering a collaborative culture focused on mentoring and developing engineering talent.
