Senior Staff Software Engineer, Unified Traffic Engineering, Infrastructure

Google Google · Big Tech · Sunnyvale, CA +1

Senior Staff Software Engineer role focused on Unified Traffic Engineering for Google's global networks, ensuring optimized routing and load balancing for Google and GCP services. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale software solutions, with a minimum qualification of integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide technical leadership on projects.
  2. Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
  3. Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
  4. Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
  5. Build next generation traffic engineering functionality. Design, implement and qualify new networking features, including software architecture evolution, new solver algorithms, network programming coordination/management, and availability, improving mechanisms. Work closely with other UTE team members, test engineers and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to ship our product releases.
