What you'd actually do

  1. Lead development, integration and documentation of structural fatigue and fracture requirements
  2. Verify structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics, and performance
  3. Lead development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  4. Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
  5. Support in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Experience with Engineering classification such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Proficiency with FEA software (e.g., NASTRAN, PATRAN)

Nice to have

  • 7+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years’ experience with Fatigue or Durability Analysis.
  • Advanced degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering
  • Experience with Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) and advanced structural concepts
  • Prior experience in aerospace structural testing and validation
  • Experience with Spectrum Generation
  • Knowledge of certification requirements and aerospace industry standards
  • Experience Boeing analysis tools (LifeWorks, StressCheck etc.)
  • Works under minimal direction.
