Senior Structural Analysis Engineer, Loads and Dynamics

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Costa Mesa, CA · Hardware Engineering : Mechanical Engineering : Structural Analysis

This role is for a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer at a defense technology company. The engineer will be responsible for developing structural loads and environments, performing static and dynamic structural analyses, and conducting validation testing for various defense products. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanics, proficiency in FEA software, and scripting skills in Python or Matlab. While the company utilizes AI and related technologies in its products, this specific role focuses on traditional structural engineering and analysis, not AI/ML model development or deployment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop structural loads and environments for a diverse range of company products to ensure structural integrity for handling, transportation, and operational events
  2. Develop and perform dynamics testing, including vibration testing, modal testing, GVT, etc
  3. Perform static and dynamic structural analyses across sea, ground, air, and space domains using first principles and appropriate analysis methods (hand calculations, spreadsheets, scripts, detailed FEA)
  4. Develop and own FEM creation and organization at the global and subsystem level
  5. Collaborate with hardware engineers to drive proper designs based on analytical results

Skills

Required
