This role is for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer at Anduril, a defense technology company. The role focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Military Off-The-Shelf (MOTS) parts through supplier collaboration, process development, testing, and qualification. It involves working with cross-functional teams, driving supplier performance, managing risks, and ensuring compliance in a regulated production environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive the supplier quality development processes throughout the product development stages with the product engineering team through design reviews, supplier process development, testing, and qualification for components and sub-assemblies.
  2. For critical COTS/MOTS, partner with engineering to design, develop, qualify, and implement functional test and performance validation process at suppliers.
  3. Partner with development engineering, product quality engineering, global strategic sourcing and program management to deliver predictable supply to the development programs, production programs, and manage exceptions/containments/deviations for supplier technical performance.
  4. Drive supplier quality readiness by analyzing key and critical characteristics for drawings and supplier specification, develop measurement systems, and supplier qualification activities (PPAP, FAIR, Audit, inspection development, etc).
  5. Partner with Global Strategic Sourcing and Product Sourcing Engineering to drive overall supplier performance for cost, quality, delivery and fulfillment of strategic goals.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field
  • Supplier Quality Engineering, onsite Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering experience in a highly regulated production environment (Minimum 3-5 years)
  • Working experience with any of the following manufacturing environment: electro mechanical assembly , micro-electronics and mechanical assembly process
  • Working knowledge and auditing experience of AS9100/ ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma
  • Experience performing First Article Inspection to AS9102 Industry Standard.
  • Experience with driving supplier performance and evaluation.
  • Experience with Statement of Work (SOW), quality clauses, intellectual property (IP), and government regulations such as ITAR, etc..
  • Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Quality Control Plan (QCP), Statistical Process Controls (SPC), and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
  • Well versed in quality improvement and failure analysis techniques: 5 whys, 8D , Fishbone diagram, Shainin Red X, etc
  • A strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion.
  • Analytical skills and experiences for data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools (MatLab, JMP, MiniTab, etc)
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time to suppliers, sourcing partners, and manufacturing locations.

Nice to have

  • Active or former IPC 610, IPC 620 certification
  • Working experience with commodities such as RF applications, Camera & Sensors, HVAC & Thermal controls, Motors and Servos.
  • Preferred Certifications: CQE, CSSBB, CQA, CQM, etc
  • Experience with government contracts and MIL standard requirements
  • Experience with Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Oracle/Netsuite, Jira, Tableau and Palantir Foundry
