The Role We are looking for a visionary Senior System Administrator to redefine how identity, devices, and automation intersect. You won't just manage Okta; you will architect a seamless ecosystem where Workday (already integrated) serves as the heart of our automation, and Intune/Jamf act as the gatekeepers for device trust. You are an innovator who thrives on building AI-driven bots and complex Okta Workflows to solve the "human" problems of IT, ensuring that our security posture—including Universal Logout and conditional access—is ironclad and automated. Key Responsibilities Identity Orchestration & Automation
- Workday Master Integration: Leverage our existing Workday-Okta integration to build advanced downstream automation for granular lifecycle events (conversions, international transfers, and rapid offboarding).
- Expert Workflow Design: Architect and maintain mission-critical Okta Workflows to automate Slack channel provisioning, Google Workspace delegation, and Jira project access.
- AI & Bot Innovation: Design and deploy AI-powered bots (Slack/Jira integrations) that allow for natural language access requests and automated troubleshooting of identity issues.
Endpoint & Device Trust
- Unified Endpoint Management: Integrate Microsoft Intune (Windows/Android) and Jamf (macOS/iOS) with Okta to enforce Device Trust and Passwordless authentication.
- Session Security: Implement and manage Okta Universal Logout and session revocation strategies to ensure immediate access termination across all SaaS apps during security incidents.
- Conditional Access: Design policies that ensure only managed, compliant devices can access sensitive corporate data.
Data-Driven Troubleshooting
- Advanced Logging: Use Okta Expression Language and advanced System Log queries to proactively identify authentication failures or security anomalies.
- Log Analysis: Utilize API-based log streaming to create dashboards that monitor integration health and user adoption metrics.
What You Bring
- The Okta Veteran: 6+ years of dedicated experience with Okta and Okta Workflows. You should be comfortable with advanced workflow logic (API Connectors, Custom Functions, and Error Handling).
- The Device Specialist: Deep hands-on experience with MDM solutions (Intune and Jamf) and how they exchange signals with Identity Providers (IdP).
- The Workflow Automation Power User: Expert at leveraging Workday RaaS (Reports-as-a-Service) and Business Process (BP) events as triggers for complex Okta Workflows. You can parse nested JSON payloads from Workday to drive sophisticated logic for role changes, legal entity transfers, and high-risk terminations with zero manual intervention.
- The Troubleshooter: Expertise in running complex Okta queries and interpreting Syslog data to solve "needle in a haystack" integration issues.
- The Modern Scripter: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript to fill the gaps where out-of-the-box connectors end.
- The Innovator: A portfolio or history of building automation, bots, or custom tools that improved the employee experience.
