Senior Systems Engineer - Telemetry (onsite)

This role focuses on developing, updating, and maintaining system requirements, concepts of operations, and interface definitions related to telemetry. It involves developing new or upgrading legacy ground support processing equipment, researching and evaluating replacement telemetry system material and equipment for ground station deployment, and conducting trade studies. The position also requires developing integration documentation, verifying requirements, and communicating results to leadership and stakeholders, as well as presenting technical findings. A Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5 years of engineering experience are required, with experience in system integration and test environments and telemetry systems being essential.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop, update, and maintain system requirements, concepts of operations, and interface definitions related to telemetry.
  2. Develop new or upgrades to legacy ground support processing equipment.
  3. Research and evaluate, validate and document replacement telemetry system material and equipment for ground station deployment.
  4. Conduct trade studies and present findings to stakeholders to support technical decision-making.
  5. Develop integration documentation, verify requirements, and communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience
  • Experience with System Integration and Test Environments
  • Experience with telemetry systems

Nice to have

  • Experience working in a matrix environment
  • Knowledge of telemetry airborne and ground station systems design and integration
  • Experience with RF and signal processing related to telemetry systems
  • Experience with authoring and delivering technical presentations such as design reviews, test readiness reviews and technical documentation
  • Hands on experience using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, signal generators, RF transmitter, RF receivers and other RF components
  • Knowledge of GPS timing and distribution
  • Knowledge of test equipment design, architecture, component selection and fabrication
