Develops and optimizes advanced security tools and systems for network monitoring, data segmentation, access control, encryption, and secure data transfer. Manages and secures networks and enclaves, refines system security configurations to meet IT security standards (RMF, NIST 800-53), and collaborates on technical solutions. Requires a transferable U.S. government security clearance (Secret) and U.S. citizenship.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop, and optimize advanced security tools, systems, and policies to enhance network monitoring, data segmentation, access control, encryption, and secure data transfer, leveraging innovative technologies and best practices.
  2. Perform and sustain cybersecurity operations, focusing on managing, optimizing, and securing networks and enclaves through advanced security mechanisms and toolsets.
  3. Evaluate and refine system security configurations to align with and exceed modern IT security standards, including the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-53 security controls.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  5. Establish functional and technical specifications, define input/output parameters, and ensure comprehensive integration of systems or subsystems.

Skills

Required

  • University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Experience with Windows or Red Hat client server environments
  • Experience with application installation, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with system hardening techniques and best practices

Nice to have

  • Experience with Group Policy
  • Cybersecurity best practices
  • Networking concepts
  • Automation and scripting for system deployment (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)
