Senior Systems Test Engineer

Aurora Innovation Aurora Innovation · Robotics · PITHQ · Software Autonomy Action

This role focuses on testing and validating Aurora's self-driving technology, which involves complex systems engineering, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, track, and road testing. The engineer will analyze results, identify defects, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues. Experience with high-risk, safety-critical products and autonomous systems is desirable.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work alongside leadership in developing strategies for testing the Aurora Driver
  2. Leverage diverse testing methods including simulation, Hardware-In-Loop (HIL), track, and road testing in support of autonomy development and system verification and validation
  3. Plan and execute tests, analyze results, and identify defects or anomalies in system behavior
  4. Work closely with development teams to investigate root causes and drive resolution of issues
  5. Provide frequent, simple, and clear written and verbal communication of complex ideas to external teams, peers, and stakeholders
