Senior Tax Analyst – Türkiye (& Emea)

This role is for a Senior Tax Analyst at Uber, focusing on tax matters in Türkiye and supporting the broader EMEA region. The responsibilities include managing direct and indirect taxes, handling audit defense, monitoring tax legislation, collaborating with other departments on new initiatives, and exploring AI opportunities for tax team efficiency. The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, 6+ years of experience, and strong English and Turkish communication skills. Experience with Turkish tax law and in-house tech experience is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and manage all direct and indirect tax matters for our Turkish operations, ensuring full tax requirements are met and strategic alignment.
  2. Coordinate and lead responses to tax audits and queries from the Turkish Tax Authority and other regional bodies, managing external advisors and internal stakeholders.
  3. Monitor changes in Turkish and European tax legislation (such as Pillar Two) and assess their impact on Uber’s platform model.
  4. Collaborate with Legal, Policy, and Ops to assess tax implications for new business initiatives and product launches.
  5. Proactively explore AI opportunities that can benefit the Tax team and drive efficiency across tax advisory workflows, risk assessment, and business decision support.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in law, accounting, finance or a related discipline
  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience in a law firm, Big 4, or industry
  • Excellent English and Turkish (written and verbal communication skills)
  • Strong expertise in managing both direct (CIT) and indirect tax (VAT/DST) matters, specifically within the Turkish jurisdiction.

Nice to have

  • Relevant professional qualification or LLM in Tax
  • Experience with Turkish tax law
  • Experience or a strong interest in using AI and technology to drive efficiency in tax operations
  • Previous in-house experience working in a tech or platform-based business with hands-on experience in tax advisory
  • Previous experience working with other EMEA countries
