Senior Tax Manager for Pinterest's APAC region, responsible for all direct and indirect tax matters, compliance, risk management, and supporting business growth. This includes corporate income tax, VAT/GST, WHT, tax provisions, transfer pricing, and managing tax audits. The role also involves monitoring legislative changes and driving process automation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead all direct and indirect tax matters for the APAC region, partnering closely with Finance, Legal, and Business teams to ensure compliance, manage risk, and support growth.
  2. Own end-to-end management of Corporate Income Tax, VAT/GST, WHT, and other local taxes across APAC jurisdictions. Review and sign off on tax returns, estimates, and payments prepared by internal teams and external advisors.
  3. Support the preparation and review of tax provisions and deferred taxes for APAC entities in collaboration with the global tax accounting team.
  4. Serve as the primary advisor for APAC on the tax implications of new business models, commercial contracts, and market launches in the region.
  5. Partner with the global tax team to monitor transfer pricing policies for accuracy and completeness and offer key APAC insights. Implement, execute, and defend holistic transfer pricing strategies. Oversee the preparation of transfer pricing documentation as it relates to the APAC region.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or related field
  • Accredited Tax Advisor (ATA) qualified or equivalent
  • 8+ years of relevant experience at a public accounting firm and/or tax department of a multinational public company with responsibility for regional tax matters in APAC, including emerging markets.
  • Strong technical knowledge of corporate income tax, indirect tax (GST/VAT), and withholding tax rules in APAC markets.
  • Experience with tax accounting and reporting under US GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Exposure to transfer pricing design and documentation for cross‑border intercompany transactions.
  • Proven track record managing tax audits and interactions with tax authorities.
  • Familiarity with global tax reform and its impact on APAC.
  • Experience working in a multinational environment and collaborating across time zones and cultures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non‑tax stakeholders.
